Minneapolis – January 26, 2010 – MakeMusic, Inc. (NASDAQ: MMUS) announced today that SmartMusic®, the music learning software for band, orchestra and voice, has received a “Best Tools for Schools” award. More specifically, the SmartMusic Gradebook™ was acknowledged as the “Best Time Saver/Assessment Tool.” SmartMusic Gradebook is the web-based student grading and records management system, included with SmartMusic, that allows teachers to manage, grade and document assignments for all students.
The “Best Tools for Schools” program was developed by Symphony Publishing, publishers of School Band and Orchestra magazine. Music teachers made the product selections during the 2010 Winter NAMM Show, and a panel of their peers presented each item before assembled educators on Sunday, January 17. SmartMusic, as well as the other selected items, will be profiled in an upcoming issue of School Band and Orchestra, serving as a guide to music educators in their selection of resources to be used in their school music programs.
