Andy Beck
Andy Beck received a bachelor's degree in music education from Ithaca College and a master’s degree in music education from Northwest Missouri State University. Andy is currently the Director of Choral Publications at Alfred Music. A prolific composer and arranger, he has over 450 popular choral works, vocal resources, and children’s musicals currently in print, including the highly regarded method books Sing at First Sight, Foundations in Choral Sight Singing, and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique. Andy is in demand as a guest conductor, choreographer, adjudicator, and clinician for educators and students throughout the United States and beyond.
Becky Bush
Becky Bush, Orchestra Director and founder of the Hudsonville Public Schools’ Orchestra Program in Hudsonville, Michigan is co-author of Sound Differentiation for Beginning String Orchestra published by Alfred Music. She was String Acquisition Editor and Suzuki Strategist at Alfred Music Publishing, Adjunct Professor of Music Education at Grand Valley State University and Calvin College, St. Cecilia Music Center Youth Orchestra Director, Orchestra Director at Jenison Public Schools. A graduate of the University of Michigan and Grand Valley State University, she has presented multiple sessions at state and national music conventions and has been an active guest conductor throughout Michigan.
Angela Ammerman
Angela Ammerman, called a “music teacher prodigy” by The Washington Post, earned music education degrees from the University of Cincinnati, Boston University, and a Ph.D. from George Mason University. She is dedicated to expanding access to quality music education, including founding a strings program at a children’s home in Chiang Mai, Thailand. A sought-after clinician and conductor, she has led multiple All-State orchestras nationwide. Ammerman authored The Music Teacher’s Guide to Engaging English Language Learners and The Music Teacher’s Guide to Recruitment and Retention, with a third book on classroom management in progress. Passionate about recruiting future educators, she facilitates the National Association for Music Education’s Building a Legacy series. She previously served as Director of Music Education at the University of Tennessee at Martin, earning the university’s Outstanding Advisor of the Year award. Now at George Mason University, she supervises student teachers and teaches String Methods, Lab Orchestra, and Aural Skills. Ammerman also serves as President of the Virginia String Teachers Association and founded the Future Music Educators Camp. Known for her humor and play-based learning approach, she hosts the #MusicEdLove podcast and remains committed to inspiring music teachers nationwide.
