The 67th Annual TMEA Music Education Conference is a premier gathering of Tennessee’s music educators and their exceptional students, celebrating the talents and achievements of young musicians from every corner of the state. In addition to spotlighting remarkable student performances, the conference offers world-class professional development sessions and invaluable networking opportunities. At the heart of this conference are our nine All-State ensembles for choir, band, and orchestra, comprised of hundreds of student musicians who have demonstrated outstanding skill and dedication. These ensembles are led by distinguished guest conductors who hail from professional ensembles or top-tier university music programs. An essential highlight of the conference is our Exhibit Hall, where sponsors and exhibitors can network with music educators and music supervisors who make crucial decisions about curricula and spending for their districts. This dedicated space allows for one-on-one engagement, product demonstrations, and meaningful conversations about how your goods, services, or programs can enhance music instruction.

Clinician Details

David Pope

David Pope serves as an Associate Professor of Music Education at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Performing Arts. He has presented string pedagogy clinics and his research at the European String Teachers Congress, the ASTA National Conference, The Midwest Clinic, and numerous regional/state conferences. He is the current String Research Journal editor and recently served as a co-author for Sound Orchestra and a co-editor for Teaching Music Through Performance in Orchestra (Vol. 4).

Rachel Allen

Rachel Allen is a dedicated music educator and the Band Director at Charles Town Middle School. Since 2008, her ensembles have consistently earned superior ratings, notably being named West Virginia’s 2026 state Honor Jazz Band. A Shepherd University alumna, Rachel serves as the WV Bandmaster President (Region 9) and Secretary for Phi Beta Mu. Beyond the classroom, she is a respected clinician and social media influencer with over 650,000 followers. While she enjoys teaching a global audience online, her primary passion remains mentoring the next generation of band directors and supporting her students in West Virginia.
