GIA Habits Partnership & Foundations: Habits Edition
MakeMusic became the exclusive interactive home for GIA's Habits of a Successful Musician series starting fall 2026, bringing the method's progression and exercises into an interactive, trackable format. The partnership also launched Foundations: Habits Edition by Brian Balmages, a companion resource with skill-matched exercises correlated to the Habits progression.
MakeMusic added Foundations: Essential Edition, described as the most comprehensive Foundations release yet, featuring arrangements built from popular movie and video game soundtracks. It was highlighted as part of MakeMusic's ongoing investment in Music Catalog content, including for educators transitioning from the discontinued MuseClass platform.
MakeMusic added new concert band, orchestra, and choral works, plus new Solo Foundations titles pairing iconic film solos (including music from The Mandalorian) with coordinated prep exercises for independent learning. A solo from the film Mickey 17 was also added in interactive format.

MakeMusic added 77 new interactive tracks, including new concert band, orchestra, and jazz ensemble works from composers like Randall D. Standridge and Katie O'Hara LaBrie. New popular titles from Twenty One Pilots, Zach Bryan, Dua Lipa, and Disney's Encanto rounded out the update.
MakeMusic added 125 new publications and 258 interactive tracks, including new concert band, orchestra, and choir works plus new Alfred/Belwin PerformancePlus+ titles. The update also introduced GIA's Habits of a Successful Young String Musician method book, alongside new pop and film tracks from Barbie, Beetlejuice, and Wonka.
